Chateau du Tariquet is a distillery that has preserved its traditional methods over the years. It has been awarded the 2020 Armagnac Producer of the Year award.
To distill their uniquely flavoured Bas-Armagnac, recognised as one of the best in the terroir region, they retain the use of traditional continuous wooden stills.
This bottling is a blend of eau-de-vie made from 60% Ugni-blanc grapes and 40% Bacchus grapes, which are grown in the sandy, rocky soil of Gascony, famous for producing extremely rich Armagnacs.
TASTING NOTE
Color: Presents an amber color.
Smell: Offers a nose full of nuts, dried figs and oak.
Flavor: On the palate, the fruit shines brighter than expected, intermingling citrus notes with rum raisins, incense, vanilla, mixed nuts and cocoa. The finish is nutty and a bit rustic, but not harsh, and the not-insignificant sweetness of the brandy carries the day.
