Denomination of Origin: Rias Baixas It gets its name from a Galician troubadour from the 13th century, whose poems evoke courtly love and passion for the sea. The songs of "Martín Códax" are the oldest in all of Galician-Portuguese for which their original music is preserved. The manuscript that contains them, known as "Pergamino Vindel", is preserved in the Morgan Library in New York.
