The melon is grown in Spain mainly in La Mancha, in the provinces of Albacete, Ciudad Real but also in some areas of Andalusia, Cuenca and Madrid. It is harvested in summer in these areas. We can also enjoy very good melons the rest of the year from warmer climates and tropical areas, mainly Brazil. Prestigious brands such as Villaconejos (which takes its origin from the town of this name near Chinchón and Aranjuez) have for years selected and imported high quality melons from countries such as Brazil when it is not in season in Spain
