Elaboration and aging
Arzuaga Crianza is a blend of 95% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from their La Planta estate, located 911 meters above sea level, and from another estate with century-old vineyards in Burgos.
These grapes are hand-harvested at their optimal ripeness in 15 kg boxes. The bunches go through a selection table and then are destemmed. The grapes are then placed in stainless steel tanks, where they undergo a slow alcoholic fermentation at around 27ºC.
After aging for 16 months in 60% French oak barrels and 40% American oak barrels, this powerful and fruity wine is achieved, yet with elegance and finesse.
