The prawn, a very popular crustacean in the fish market. It lives most of the day buried in the sand at about 40m deep, has morphology of “shrimp” although it is more gray in color. It is characterized by the first antennae, very short and close together, and by the internal branches of the second antennae, very wide and flat. Prawn fishing is concentrated at the mouth of the rivers, in Catalonia, in the Ebro. It can be prepared in the oven, grilled or as an ingredient in sea and mountain dishes, frying pans, fish sauces or zarzuelas.
