The dentex is a very colorful fish thanks to its red, blue and yellow colors. Its name comes from the pointed teeth it uses as a predator to catch other fish. The ideal way to catch it is from the squid itself. It is a very typical fish of the Mediterranean coasts, although in Galicia or Asturias it can also be found occasionally. About the size, in Sampera we have had specimens of up to 12kg a piece. It is perfect for baking. And in our fishmongers you will find it in slices or in supremes, ideal fillets for grilling or for cooking in a good fish broth
