There are few wineries that manage to highlight their sweet wines at the same level as their red or white counterparts. Alta Alella stands out as one of these exceptions, and their approach is reflected in one of their internationally renowned wines: the Dolç Mataró. This sweet wine, made from the mataró grape (monastrell), emerges as a must-try. It is crafted using the highest quality grapes, limited to the finest grains, and undergoes a light aging process that allows the fruit to prevail instead of the usual oxidation.

The wine exhibits classic aromas of candied fruit and dried figs, typical of sweet reds, but stands out with surprising and refreshing notes of cherry tomatoes, orange peel, and green tea. When served in a glass, aromas of violets and licorice, along with figs and orange peels, are released. When tasted, the subtlety of its tannins and the delicate nuances of cocoa powder are appreciated, which is surprising on the palate.
