More information

Dominio de Pingus is a very small winery located in Quintanilla de Onésimo in the province of Valladolid with vineyards in the area of La Horra de la Ribera del Duero. The most sought after wines in Spain and possibly the entire world are made there. Its small production makes it one of the scarcest and most exclusive wines in Spain.

Peter Sisseck is Pingus, an agronomist and oenologist born in 1962 in Copenhagen, who has been living in Spain since 1990, making his wines some of the most valued in the world ever since.

The Dominio de Pingus winery is an artisan winery, with a few rows of new barrels, a rudimentary press, some wooden vats and steel tanks. But the artisanal elaboration and low production allow them to strive for the high quality of the final product.

Currently, in addition to Pingus, this winery produces two more affordable wines, Flor de Pingus and PSI.

Pingus:

Pingus was born in 1995 and, since practically that vintage, it has become a cult wine. 100% Tinto Fino, 65-70 years old, from three different vineyards: San Cristóbal, Baroso and Santa Cruz. Peter Sisseck makes it under biodynamic precepts and with a very high level of self-demand that can only lead to excellence. The color is deep and the balsamic and floral aromas are intense but elegant. Polished tannins, good acidity and a balanced structure make it a wine without any edges, which goes directly to the list of the most coveted wines.

Tasting Notes:The color of Pingus is deep scarlet, adorned with a bluish trim. Its fruit is special, tremendously intense but also delicately elegant and fresh. The aromas of aging dress her up and prepare the wine to delight with every sip. The nose is harmonious and accessible, balsamic and floral. In the mouth it is wide and juicy, with sweet and polished tannins, good acidity and a structure based on balance; almost perfect texture, pure liquid fruit according to Peter Sisseck himself. A comforting wine, with a powerful and incredibly long finish, which feeds its legend at every drop.
