Fontaine Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet is a white wine made with Chardonnay by Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard.
The Chardonnay grapes come from several plots (En Journoblot, La Bergerie, Les Voillenots Dessus, Voillenot Dessous, Masures, Les Essarts) with clay-limestone soils.
In Burgundy, tradition is deeply rooted, and winemaking at Fontaine-Gagnard is no exception. All the wines are fermented with native yeast. The whites are aged for one year and the reds for 18 months in barrels made by the domaine.
Fontaine-Gagnard is one of the finest traditional domains in the Côte d'Or, a true specialist in Chassagne, producing excellent wines that set the bar very high in each vintage and reflect its wide range of great terroirs.
