Garrus Rose 2021

Garrus is the first wine from Chateau d'Esclans and possibly one of the best rosés in the region, as well as one of the most expensive. In any case, it is a special wine. The wine is made from 80-year-old vines, Grenache and Rolle, or Vermentino as it is known in Italy. Unlike most rosés, it is a wine made to drink after a few years in the bottle.

The wine ferments in barrels at a controlled temperature and then ages for eight months in barrels.

Another peculiarity of this rosé is that the wine remains in contact with the lees with weekly stirrings or battonage like the Chardonnays of Burgundy, which help create complexity as well as texture and weight on the palate.
