More information

North Limit is a wine that explores the westernmost area of Rioja through two native but rare varieties, which grow in an extreme climate with influences of Atlantic freshness, Maturana Blanca and Tempranillo Blanco

The landscape is formed by the Obarenes Mountains and the Oja and Tirón rivers. This place is the last to be harvested in Rioja.

Rodolfo Bastida is the conductor of the winery. He is responsible for conveying the style and unique personality of Ramón Bilbao to our wines and, with Límite Norte, this personality is reflected in a wine as unusual as it is special.

Production and Aging

For the production of Límite Norte, cold maceration is carried out in Maturana Blanca, to enhance the primary aromas and tannins of the variety. Fermentation takes place in concrete and aging on fine lees in: concrete, amphora, and 600l barrel. Blending and aging takes place in 225l French oak barrels for 6 months, plus 12 months in the bottle.

Tasting Note

It has a pale yellow color, clean and bright. Medium intensity nose, with aromas of citrus fruit (lime zest), fresh stone fruit, notes of white flowers, subtle barrel aromas, and tertiary notes. In the mouth, it is fresh, with excellent acidity and gentle tannin. A harmonious, balanced white with a long finish.
