More information

Louis Roederer Brut Cristal Rosé 2012 is a rosé cuveé made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with 15% oak vinification, made by the Louis Roederer winery in the Champagne D.O.

The year 2012 posed considerable and sensitive challenges for the Champagne region. However, these difficulties often lead to momentous moments. The diminished harvests, resulting from unforeseen climatic events, combined with continental conditions at the end of the season, made it possible to achieve an exceptional and historic level of ripeness. This event led to ample, vigorous wines with a solid structure, on a par with the best Champagne vintages.

For the production of its rosé champagnes, Louis Roederer has developed over time a method completely unique to the Champagne region. This process, known in the cellar as "infusion," allows the juicy, ripe character of the Pinot noir grape variety to be extracted, while retaining an impressive freshness. In this method, a portion of the juice from the Chardonnay grapes is incorporated into a maceration of Pinot noirs, allowing them to ferment together and achieving a perfect integration. The amount of sugar added (dosage) is 8 grams per litre.

Tasting notes of Louis Roederer Brut Cristal Rosé 2012

Subtle rose hue with golden glints. Uniform and exceptionally fine bubbles. Unobtrusive aroma of unusual elegance. Delicate, evanescent nuances intertwine in such a complex way that it is difficult to describe. It invites you to take the time to immerse yourself in this wine that reveals itself at its own pace. It exercises control over time, first revealing subtle, fresh and precise acidic notes: citrus zest, yuzu, berries, mandarin, raspberry, wild strawberries, followed by toasted and almondy hints, and finally fresh and vegetal notes of verbena and bergamot. The palate is light, enlivened by extraordinarily delicate bubbles that lighten the fruity structure and texture. The predominant impression is one of serenity, with the delicacy of fresh fruit and the strength of the acidic freshness of the chalk. The finish reveals a splendidly evasive lingering finish.
