Markus Molitor Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese is a single-variety white wine made from Riesling grapes by the winery Markus Molitor.
The Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese is made from grapes harvested in October in the magnificent Ürzig vineyard, located in the Bernkastel subzone. For the Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese, the grapes are exclusively handpicked at the optimal ripeness, avoiding the use of machines that may be less selective. Once harvested, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery, where they are carefully selected and crushed.
Fermentation takes place in large wooden barrels at a controlled temperature. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for several months.
Tasting notes of Markus Molitor Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese
The barrel-aged Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese, from the Mosel wine region, has a bright and radiant light yellow color when poured into the glass. When swirling the glass, this German wine reveals expressive notes of quince, apple, Nashi pear, and pear. Hints of dried grass, wild celery, and juniper are also perceived.
The Markus Molitor Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese offers a pleasant sweetness to wine lovers. This white wine is never harsh or lacking, but rather round and flexible on the palate.
