Mompertone Monferrato Prunotto 2017

Mompertone Monferrato Prunotto is a red wine made with Barbera and Syrah in the DOC Monferrato by Prunotto.

The harvested grapes were brought to the winery, destemmed and crushed. Maceration was carried out over a period of 6 days at a controlled temperature of 28-30 °C. Malolactic fermentation was completed in late December and the wine was left to age for approximately 12 months in the cellar.

Mompertone comes from vineyards in the Monferrato area growing on soils composed of limestone and clay with widespread sandy streaks. This terroir gives the wine a round palate characterized by soft, elegant tannins.

In the mouth it is rich,fresh, full of powerand vitality,at times firmed bythe strongtextureof the tannins; Finisheswith a Mompertone is a deep ruby red color with violet hues. Its nose is rich with fruity aromas of plums and cherries that mingle with notes of violets, spice and coffee. In the mouth it is mouth-filling, rich in tannins that are soft, elegant and persistent.
