The Red Wine Finca Constancia 12 of the Finca Constancia winery (González Byass) is made from the selection of the best Graciano grapes from Parcel 12. It is a wine that ages for 8 months in new French oak barrels.
The Finca Constancia winery is located in the municipality of Otero in the province of Toledo. The important winery Gonzalez Byass acquired it in 2000.after a thorough study of the climatology and soil characteristics, the varieties best suited to the area were planted. Plot 12, located at the western end of the estate, is planted with the Graciano variety. It produces very high quality grapes, harvested by hand. The vines are grown in granitic soils that provide mineral touches to a very special Graciano.
The 2014 vintage was characterized by a final sprint in the grape ripening cycle due to the high temperatures in the days prior to harvest. These hot days were no surprise to the vines, which already in spring saw their flowering and veraison come earlier. By the end of June, almost half of the future harvest was already veraisoned, giving a glimpse of an early harvest. The cool summer temperatures balanced the cycle, obtaining grapes with a concentrated ripeness and a tendency towards compote aromas, which will serve as raw material for pleasant wines, with sweet tannins, good aftertaste and excellent for aging.
