TheFinca Constancia Parcela 23 Wine (Gonzalez Byass) is made with 100% Tempranillo grapes from Parcel 23, one of the most unique plots of Finca Constancia. The grapes are harvested by hand in small boxes. Malolactic fermentation took place in new French and American oak barrels where it subsequently rested for six months, which provides a subtle touch of wood that outlines the fruity character of this Tempranillo.
The Finca Constancia winery is located in the municipality of Otero in the province of Toledo. The important winery González Byass acquired it in 2000.After a thorough study of the climatology and soil characteristics, the varieties best suited to the area were planted. The 2015 vintage was characterized by a dry winter and a warm summer that resulted in a good balance in the development of the vineyard. From the end of July, the veraison of the earliest variety, Tempranillo, began, while the Cabernet Sauvignon variety changed its color in mid-August. The grapes were harvested very slowly and each variety was picked at its optimum ripening time. The cool summer temperatures made the cycle balanced, obtaining grapes with concentrated ripeness and a tendency towards compote aromas, which will serve as raw material for pleasant wines, with sweet tannins, good aftertaste and excellent for aging.
