Pioneer in the white grenache style, different work is carried out to extract the best virtues of each vineyard. In the youngest vineyards, an earlier harvest is carried out to enhance acidity and more primary fruit; the older vineyards are harvested in a more advanced state of ripeness.
Ramon Roqueta, a lover of grenache, develops his project Lafou Celler in the Terra Alta. A vineyard of his own, located in Mas Gabrielet, a property located north of the municipality of Batea (Tarragona). As a result, they obtain elaborations with varietal typicity and the characteristic of the terroir.

The Terra Alta D.O., the Mediterranean inland
The production and processing area of the "Terra Alta" Designation of Origin (DOTA) is located in southern Catalonia, between the Ebro River and the border with Aragonese lands, encompassing the 12 municipalities of the Terra Alta region.
Its landscape maintains all the characteristic features of an inland terroir near the Mediterranean Sea: pre-coastal limestone mountain ranges (Puertos de Horta, Sierras de Pàndols i Cavalls), small rivers (Algars and Canaletes), conglomerate rock mountains, holm oak and white pine forests, and above all, agricultural soils tinted with typical Mediterranean crops: almond, grapevine, and olive.
Within this framework, three clearly differentiated landscape units of agricultural interest must be added: La Plana, the Plateau, and the Valleys.
Characteristics
Cultivated soils generally have medium textures. They have in common their richness in limestone and are poor in organic matter. The DOTA soil catalog classifies up to 17 profiles, among which the Panal stands out. Another feature that claims the Mediterranean inland character is the climatology. Abundant sunshine and scarce rainfall. Two particularities stand out: a unique balance between the two dominant winds, the Cierzo (NW) and the garbinada (southern marinades), and a cold winter that denotes some continental characteristics.
Vineyards
Vineyards are present in all the landscape units of La Plana, the Plateau, and the Valleys, and especially concentrated in the central third of the production area, between 350 and 550 meters above sea level.
The terrace is the most common cultivation unit and is a consequence of the interaction of cultivation with the varied terrain, arranging it at
