The Colombian Distillery has launched a limited edition expression of its Dictador rum brand.
Dictador 2 Masters Niepoort is a blend of Colombian rum from the 1971, 1974, 1978, and 1980 harvests that has been aged between 12 and 16 months in ex-Port wine barrels from the Nieeport Port Wine Cellar. A limited edition of very few bottles for the most discerning connoisseurs or collectors.
The expression, with a volume of 48%, which is limited to 620 units, was created in collaboration with the Portuguese winemaker Dirk van Niepoort.
"Port wine is a symbol of rich flavors and intense maturity," said Dictador's master blender, Hernán Parra. "Niepoort is a symbol of the fusion of family traditions, high-quality products, and constantly evolving creativity... It symbolizes what this project represents; the synergy of two masters."
Launched in 2015, the 2 Masters range from Dictador presents a series of rums from the brand blended with offerings from other spirits and wine producers, such as the Hungarian company Royal Tokaji and the French champagne house Leclerc Briant.
