The Chita Suntory is a whiskey of grain created by the JAPANESE company Suntory.

In 1972 Suntory decided to create his first whisky of grain. He named it homage to the Japanese peninsula Chita. And to create it, they followed the classic Japanese style: Looking for the perfect maturation.

The recipe is a creation of Keizo Saji, the second Master blender of Suntory, which was inspired to follow the vision of Shinjio Torii. The idea, to create a whisky that reflects the craftsmanship and Japanese nature. To do so, Keizo created the Cheetah distillery on the coast of the Homonymous peninsula.

The distillery uses maize grain and a continuous distillation process with multiple columns. Thus, they create the three different types of whisky grain that will give rise to the cheetah.

On the one hand, it produces a strong-grained spirit distilled into two columns. Then, a medium-grain spirit distilled through three columns. Finally, the softest spirit, distilled through four columns. Part of these whiskies is destined to the production of the blends OF Suntory.

The Cheetah Ages in three different types of casks. On the one hand, American oak Bourboncasks. It also uses Spanish oak barrels and European oak casks that have wine content.

The distillery uses corn grain and a process of continuous distillation with multiple columns. Thus, they create the three distinct types of grain whisky that will give rise to The Cheetah.

First, they produce a strong grain spirit distilled in two columns. Then, a medium-grain spirit distilled through three columns. Finally, the smoothest spirit, distilled through four columns. Some of these whiskies go into the production of Suntory's blends.
