This Yamazaki 12 YO Single Malt is composed of carefully selected malt whiskies, all aged for at least 12 years in various casks.
This limited edition has been created to celebrate the centenary of the House of Suntory. In honour of its namesake, it is produced at the first and oldest malt distillery in Japan, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. The name Yamazaki, meaning "a blanket of mountains", refers to its unique geographical location, isolated among a range of forest-covered mountains.This limited edition bottling pays tribute through an exclusive design by the House of Suntory, which highlights Monozukuri craftsmanship and enshrines it as an integral part of Japanese culture. The continuous pursuit of quality, ingenuity and expressiveness has been the source of inspiration for the design of this centenary edition.
The bottle design of Yamazaki 12 YO celebrates the birthplace of Japanese whisky, Yamazaki. The illustration captures the essence of this legendary distillery in deep copper tones, taken from a low angle and looking upwards. This perspective urges us to always keep our feet on the ground and honour the dream of our founder, Shinjiro Torii, to create a whisky based on the riches of nature and Japanese craftsmanship.
The subtle play of light and shadow symbolises the sun, representing the future shining on our Soul Place.
