Tignanello Antinori is a red wine made with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grapes in the Tuscany region (Italy) by the Marchesi Antinori winery.
Produced only in the best vintages since 1971, Tignanello is a wine that has made its mark on the history of Italian winemaking. Not only was it the first to use Sangiovese in barrels, but it was also the first to modernize its blends with non-traditional varietals.
It is made with Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon from the vineyards of Tenuta Tignanello, a historic property of the Antinori family that extends over 57 hectares of vineyards in the southwest on limestone soil at an altitude of 350 to 400 meters.
Tasting Note of Tignanello Antinori
Tignanello is a very bright ruby red.
On the nose, it impresses with the complexity of its first approach, highlighting red and black berries and sweet spices. This is followed by more masculine notes of leather and pipe tobacco, on a balsamic background that adds depth to the whole.
On the palate, it is broad, clean, and smooth, with a perfect balance between richness and freshness.
