Breeding and production

This Vino Blanco Valdebarón comes from the Tempranillo Blanco grape variety which grows from soils of sands, gravels, clays, gypsum and limestone elements that make up the hillsides to the north and northeast of Viana

This White Wineis fermented in new French oak barrels and then undergoes a 4-month aging in oak (American and French) and acacia barrels on its finest lees.

Tempranillo Blanco

This variety comes from a natural genetic mutation from a single vine shoot of a Tempranillo Tinto vine located in Rioja. The cluster is usually medium-sized and loose, with a medium-sized, slightly flattened berry. They are late budding and early ripening. Wines made from this variety usually have high acidity with fruity aromas. It usually highlights intense aromas of banana, citrus and tropical fruits.

Bodegas Ondarre

Bodegas Ondarre seeks to make wines that express the terroir, to make wines with a clear mark of the municipality of Viana. This typicity or personality is defined by the diversity of soils and the distribution of the small, old vineyards located on the slopes that ascend towards the Sierra.

Viana is an area with an immense winemaking tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. According to records, there is cartographic material showing that many of Bodegas Ondarre's vineyards ofMazuelo and Tempranillovarieties have been planted for over 70 years, giving the wines great uniqueness and personality.

These vineyards are of low yields where the grapes are meticulously cared for and selected, as this is the only way to achieve wines that reflect and express the terroir through climate, soil and man's work.
