NOILLY PRAT BLANCO

It is made up of two varieties of white grape, picpoul and clairette, grown in the Herault region of France, in the southeast of the country.

Years of experience have inspired this pioneering technique, realizing that when transporting the wine in barrels exposed to the sun and salt air for a prolonged period, it acquired a special flavor resulting from an alteration of the optimal storage conditions.

To recreate this alteration in a controlled manner after an initial period in the cellar, the wine was transferred to second barrels that were exposed to the sun for approximately one year.

The essence of the process is to force very specific conditions of temperature, humidity, and salt concentration in the air, so that the wine does not spoil and the wood imparts that characteristic flavor.

The result is a first wine with a powerful flavor that must undergo traditional subsequent enrichment (after three years) with brandy and a secret blend of spices to produce this vermouth.

Noilly Prat is a modern winery adapted to the times that has a long history dating back to 1813, when Joseph Noilly introduced dry vermouth in France. 42 years later, Noilly's heirs partnered with Claudius Prat and formed the current Noilly Prat, settling in the town of Marseille, at the foot of the Mediterranean, an ideal place to make this magnificent aperitif.
